‘NHS workers are doing a truly incredible job and now is the time to come together and support them in any way we can’

Vegan brand The Meatless Farm Co. has pledged to donate 20,000 plant-based sausages to NHS (National Health Service) staff amid the coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic.

The company, which recently announced its sales had soared by 149 percent in a year, announced on Instagram its sausages will be packed into family food boxes which NHS staff can pick up at the end of their shift, and will also be used at pop-cafes, where staff are entitled to a free breakfast.

Help NHS Heros

The donation is in collaboration with the Help NHS Heroes campaign, an initiative helping NHS Staff who are unable to get hold of basic food items due to people panic buying.

Jason Mawer, Founder of Help NHS Heroes, said: “The initial support from companies like Meatless Farm is invaluable. We have had many messages of thanks and expressions of relief about the on-site access from our NHS heroes and we are committed to making this work on a national basis.”

‘Important initiative’

Morten Toft Bech, Founder of Meatless Farm, added: “Help NHS Heroes is a very important initiative and we are delighted to be able to play our part in helping to provide the amazing NHS staff with a more convenient way to shop.

“NHS workers are doing a truly incredible job and now is the time to come together and support them in any way we can.”
